Welcome from Tracy Mitrano
Tracy Mitrano is Director of Information Technology Policy in the Office of Information Technology Policies at Cornell University.
The Digital Literacy Project is part of the Cornell University Undergraduate Information Competency Program, spearheaded by the Vice Provost of Undergraduate Education and Cornell University Libraries. This program supports faculty in their efforts to infuse undergraduate education with the kind of research that university work is all about. Because we believe that future scholars must learn what research is throughout their undergraduate years, we’re working on tools like this one to help you engage in thoughtful, careful research in classes both large and small. This resource is designed to support you as you learn the rules of appropriate conduct with regard to copyright, plagiarism, research, and privacy—core topics that compose digital literacy.
We hope this program will help you as a member of the scholarly community to which you now belong.
